Thread: cherry exhaust???

  1. #1
i just purchased a brand new 08 xb12r and when it was delivered i started it in the garage and after a minute of running i noticed that both the front and reat exhaust pipe was cherry red for about 4-5 inches. i am new to buell was on a yamaha and hated it. so i was wondering if this was normal or if something was wrong with the fuel management system??

Normal during break in period on all the new ones. Especially if you let it sit and idle. I used to be able to light cigarettes off of my header. lol :D

don't just like your bike sit and idle...ride it, it's healthier for your bike.

xb engine opperates at 325 degrees normaly so they run pretty hot.. but dont let idle for a long time remember they are air and oil cooled so if you aint riding its not getting the air it needs and could be running a lot hotter then it should..
