So I've tracked down a bike that I believe is a good deal. Unfortunately the air scoop has a scratch on it and the seat is mangled up a bit in the back. See photo below.
My question is how much does a new seat cost on a 07 XB12? Or is it cheaper to repair? Also the guy said he dropped it while loading it to the back of his truck. Said he replaced the left rear subframe? Also he said it's a "Rebuilt Title".
Should I be worried? For your reference:

3400 miles? Damn. I did that much in the first 4 months I had my 09.
Looks like dry rot from exposure to sun or other less than optimum conditions.
New seat is around $110. If all else is really in good condition, you are probably getting a pretty good deal.
What about the title situation?
I heard insurance co might not insure due to it being rebuilt?
It wouldn't have a rebuilt title if that was the only damage. The headlights are $125, the LH seat section is $140, the headlight bracket is two pieces, and theyre $140 together. That isn't going to total a bike. There are no pucks on the frame; if he dropped it hard enough to replace parts on the front and back of the same side, he either "repaired" the frame, or replaced it. If it is a replaced frame, I wouldn't worry about it (other than the insurance situation) but if not, pass.
I bought a used seat for $25, but recovering one isnt all that hard either. I'd look for more info on the title. i could see an insurance company possibly totaling a bike with a subframe damage, even if it is a bolt on fix that anyone could do.
