I have the info on how and I have the cable and SW to do the re-set on the TPS. Any one have a clue as to why these seem to be required? Engine vibration...or ???

IDK, the first thing comes to my mind is maybe they thought of the throttle cable stretching over time or something.

The service manual states that throttle cable adjustment/lubrication be performed every 5000 mi. Then set idle speed (1050-1150 for my XB9) I. If you have a severe drivability problem, reset the TPS for a first step. If not, every 10000 mi.

Yep, cables wear, throttle body bits wear, TPS calibration drifts, maybe more?

I now have the equipment to do my own re-sets. Because I have an 04 XB and an 06 XB. The 04 was the first to require the re-set. I first approached the dealership that I bought the bike from. They acted like I was not from here when I asked them about a re-set. They don't do that they just replace them at a cost of almost 300 dollars with all their hidden shop chearges and labor. I got the cables and SW for a little over 200. If this is going to be a reaccuring thing then they are a must. I have 5 American V Twins in my stable. However the less then stellar service and treatment that I have gotten from the dealers since I bought them is really cranking me over.

What cables and software do you have? My cable was $35 and the software was free.
