I have an 2006 Ulysses that needs a new neutral switch, can the neutral switch be replaced without removing the transmission sprocket? If so, how?

Is this for all buell models and years ?
I guess it's certainly cheap enough to have one on the side, just encase.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I was able to remove mine that way tonight also. Good call on the sealing washer for installation.

Mine somehow was damaged? It appears that perhaps the part that pushes the pin on the switch had missed its mark and hit the plastic around the switch and damaged the mechanism.

That’s a good looking salt of the earth family there, Barrett. I always figured you looked more like Sam Elliot than Tom Cruise.

Mine failed as well over the past week and i was able to remove the switch with a needle nose pliers and a few strongly worded phrases towards the bike. I managed to get the switch loose enough but bent the hell out of my pliers. The new neutral switch is in the mail yet waiting to receive.

Dredging up this old thread to simply say thanks to the people recommending needle nose pliers to get the switch out. Mine failed and I thought it was going to be a right mission getting it out, but after reading this I simply tried with some small jawed vice grips and it was all done in, new switch in, in under 15 minutes. No need to remove the belt even!
