Ordering parts for Buell is a pain with local H-D dealerships. I am wondering if i can use an aftermarket oil filter for Ulysses, FRAM or Amsoil or Wix or whatever is easily available. Thanks!

Amsoil - I contacted my Amsoil supplier and he says Amsoil doesn't recommend their EAO09 filter for Toyota. I know Toyota and Buell are two different animals, but is there something wrong with these filters?

    Thanks.

Walmart Supertech works fine. Cheap as chips. Change often, like every 2500 miles; also before putting your bike away for the winter if you do that, so old oil with water and crud in it doesn't get rust into your engine.
Purolator suggests on their web site not to use their "Pure One" filters on bikes.

You have forgotten one oil filter, the Scott's performance oil filter. It's a bit pricey at 135 bucks, but will last the life of the bike. Simply take it apart, clean it, and reinstall. Looks pretty trick too. I have it on my Buell and will be putting one on my Sprint ST.
