You will absolutely have to get the S wiring harness. I did this swap but just the front and rewired the harness and the relay and fuse blocks are just to bulky and not as compact as the S harness.
Otherwise all I can think of for the rear other than the obvious tail section pieces would be a shorter latch cable.
what about throttle cable and brake line?
if you put low bars on there you could be fine, if you go with city cross or uly bars you will get a bit tight.
I just did the Lightning top triple tree conversion on my 2006 XB9R Firebolt. I kept the Firebolt fairing and used Renthal Street Low bars on the Lightning tree. You will need to re-route the stock clutch cable to the left side, change the front brake line to a Lightning, and change the throttle cables to Lightning ones. These changes will apply regardless of what bars you use.
I stand correctedThese changes will apply regardless of what bars you use.
thanks I'll remember that for the future :D
Just go buy an S...you'll probably spend as much money buying the parts, and then you'll have 2 bikes, lol.
i have an s top clamp and stock bars off a s did you have to shave the front fairind to get it to turn
