thanks again for all the help i will try to bypass the switch tomorrow
You physically put the transmission into neutral and...
1) Light on? no hasn't come on since problem started
2) Start with clutch left alone? havent tried that but i assume it will not at this point
3) Start with clutch pull? yes
4) Bike dies when clutch released? yes but only when kick stand is down
bike has no idea when it is in neutral so it always thinks its in gear:
1- no light ever
2-dies when clutch is released when kick stand is down
thanks again for all the help i will try to bypass the switch tomorrow
Let us know how it goes today. I'm still thinking that your bulb is possibly burned out only because it never comes on. As to the bike cutting off when the clutch is release with the kickstand down - the switch on the clutch lever seems like the best place to start.
Im having the same exact problem!!!
Bike will not start in neutral w/ kickstand down and no clutch.
Bike will start with clutch pulled in with kickstand down but once clutch released (in neutral) bike kills.
Also have no neutral light being illuminated.
Let me know how you fixed this!!!
I had the same problem, just change out the neutral switch on the rh side of the cranks, cost about ten bucks....
I have changed the Netural switch on many bikes But the Buell I had to do a little grinding and so on to my socket and a wrench. To get behind the front belt pulley so as to not pull the front pulley. Works pretty good. The safety switch on the Clutch lever is easy enough just pop out the lever and 10 mins later you are ready to go.
can someone please explain where these switched are
RH side behind pulley
neutral switch is #3
