No but yes, the lever will fit but it will have a ton of slack and not be able to function correctly, since the '09+ levers have a thicker base to the perch area.
Will the front brake lever from a 2003 XB9R fit a 2009 XB12SS Thanks ozzie

No and NO.... The 03 brake lever is for a ZTL brake system which has a different master cylinder than the one on your ZTL2 system. It is dangerous, please don't do it.
Wont it still bolt up???? But like mentioned not work due to the excessive slop?
I know for a fact that the '09 brake lever will bolt to an '03, I did it on BuellChicks bike but I had to grind down the contact points like the Jap lever mod. So that is why I say in turn what I did in how it will bolt up but wont work due to the different base.
It will bolt up, but it shouldn't be done unless he's aware and ok with the consequences. He needs to be aware in case he installs the 03 lever and it causes him to wreck. Then he comes back and tries to pursue legal action against the board for giving him advice that nearly got him killed. People sue for everything these days. I'm not implying that Ozzie would, but we just have to be careful you know?
Thus the reason I said.................
WOW, guess I need a longer break. Maybe take some law classes.:(the lever will fit but it will have a ton of slack and not be able to function correctly,
Sorry man.. not trying to offend. I just wanted to clarify the danger in this situation. It's just a $20 part.. Why risk it you know?
