Thread: Confused engine...??? or just a TPS reset?

  1. #1
    Hello

I have a XB12R -04 wich I have done some mods to this winter.

I have re routed the crank vent and done a airbox delete this winter.

Before the mods I had a K&N air filter and race can.

Last weekend I rolled the bike outside and tried to start it up, it started but only sputteredand ran very rough.

    Now my thought.....
Since the engine temp was around 68°F and the inlet air was around 24°F, did the engine get enough fuel (choke)?

....or have the mods effected the bike so much that I will need a TPS reset or even some ECM tuning?

Probably need new plugs to start off with (NGK# DCPR9EIX are Great). A TPS reset can't hurt it, followed up by a nice long cruise (Learn-in Ride) holding a steady 3000+ RPM. And the ECM tuning is the Best thing you could do to maximize performance from the mods that you've done.

Edit: You may consider throwing in some good high octane gas or even adding Seafoam to pep up the winter gas.
