This fluctuates between 3.8-5.6%
I have in '08 STT. My TPS will fluctuate between 3.5*-4.0* while idling at a steady 1050.
This fluctuates between 3.8-5.6%
When hot, when cold pretty steady at 3.8-4.0
again when ignition is on, engine not running
tested running and not running-no difference
Your TPS fluctuates that much, not running? Never heard of that, but I'd replace it.
Update-replaced it and it still does it...sent ECM to IDS and going to update to BUE2D if that does not fix it going back to stock exhaust and tune...tired of messing with this thing...
How would a different exhaust and tune ever "fix" it? Theres nothing I can think of that would make a 'TPS fluctuate while not running' besides the wiring or the part itself and since you replaced the part...
FYI, the ECM I had updated by HD to BUE-2D ended up still having a weird issue that was recently solved by a new ECM. Super rare that an ECM goes bad without physical damage, but thought you should know before you keep spending more money on guesses because you'll either get real lucky or more likely, just get more and more frustrated when the guesses don't work.
I really know nothing about ecm's and tunes but is it possible that you have a hairline crack some place and when it heats up, which would make it expand it is effecting the TPS values ?
Certainly possible. The TPS angle he is seeing fluctuate, is read as voltage so any voltage change (like a bad connection) would make it do that.
But while the engine is off? So weird.
Turn it on, connect ECMDroid, go to Live data, and start wiggling wires.
