OUCH, time-serts, or weld and re-machine the head, or get a used head, probly not gonna be real cheap either way, good luck
Sitting by the highway because my front plug blew out of the head.....took the threads with it....any idea what this will costt me?

I think I've heard of plenty of people just rethreading that hole and inserting a helicoil, so hopefully not too much.
+1 on the timesert 15thousand after mine went and no issues.
Please don't use heli-coil, too brittle for repeated use and the hot cold cycling of a head, they will crumble and fall into the head
why did it happen? did you replace your plugs recently and didnt torque them right? just asking because im gonna check mine now.
Holy crap is that a common issue?!?!?
Overtightening cracks & stretches the threads, motor vibration does the rest. These are commonly used to repair: Timesert
Yikes, no fun.
This is a good reason to have a 5/8" crowsfoot for your torque wrench...it's too easy to overtighten the front plug by hand.
I had my 10k service done at the dealer and they put the plugs in last. That was 3k miles ago
