Thread: Longevity Tires

  1. #11
I am riding mostly freeways......I might take the bike out every so often to hit the mountain roads but mostly commuting. I usually take the Harley out for weekend rides.

Pilot Road 2's!!! I got 14k on mine. Yes they need replaced but I can still get another 3k out of them. Best cornering tire Ive ever owned. They are on sale right now because the PR3's are coming out soon.

    Pilot Road 2's!!!
thats what I was thinking of going with when I need new rubber this summer,(kinda biased towards Michelins too) the roads where I now live are much more coarse then those of Vancouver Island, what I've read aboot the PR2's makes me feel as if they would hold up better out here...

The new pilot road 3's are supposed to have even better longevity...I'll without a doubt be going with either the road 2 or 3's when my current road 2's finally wear out. Love these tires!

Just bought a Road2 for the rear of my bike 141.99 to the door from JakeWilson: http://www.jakewilson.com/productDet...&sizeAttr=5275 can't beat that deal for nothin'. I've heard nothing but positives from a number of sites about them I'm hoping to get 10,000mi out of mine as that's what I plan on putting on the Buell this year and I don't want to have to buy more than 1 set of tires a season.

I've used Dunlop Roadsmarts in the past with good luck.
I'm trying out Pirelli Angels now and like the performance, can't say anything about longevity yet. They look cool as well.

I think any of the major brand's sport-touring tire is a good choice.

The only tire I've used that I didn't like is the Shinko Raven the PO put on it.
The shinko doesn't grip very well in cold or wet conditions.
