I just covered a dent. Sorry no pics.
Has anyone covered a dent with a frame puck? Did you fill in the dent with bondo or aluminum puddy before putting on the puck or just cover the dent?
It's to cold to put it on now but i sized it up and it looked like it had about 2" on the outside making contact. The part that has me worried is that when it was on i could see a little empty space from the back where the two angles meet.
Heat the non adhesive side with a blow dryer for 2 mins or so. Then press the puck on very firmly and hold for as long as you can. Continue to press the puck firmly into the gap you speak of. Remember that because you heated the puc the drying time of the adheasive double's. Good luck :)
Thanks Jobe
I realize this is a very old thread... 2004 XB9S that I've put a few thousand miles on. I can't find pucks that I am willing to pay that much money for. Thinking of heating up some plexiglass and pressing it against the left and right side, then cutting it after it takes the shape and has cooled, painting it black after that. Double sided adhesive to stick to bike. My brother-in-law does carbon fiber work and i was thinking of maybe having him cover them for me. Flat black is easy and cheap though.... I have swingarm sliders and working on front ones. This is my 5th motorcycle. 3rd was a MV Agusta Brutale 910S, so this is not as fast as that but still fun. Recently replaced my own fork oil, put new front and rear tire on, and changed all fluids.
***Yes. I'm dyslexic. The BX was not intentional...
Sounds much easier and cheaper to just buy them? You can get carbon fiber ones already done.
Thanks for the input sir. I will look around and see what's out there.
**I read a lot of posts on here before saying anything and you had shared quite a few of them. I'm learning.
