Thread: NO money LED flasher mod

I've done this mod on several bikes and they have all worked great. Basically you open up the stock flasher and double check it has a timing chip. Orient yourself with the pic and your flasher, using the notch on the chip as a point of reference. Removing the indicated connection either above or below the circuit board will enable it to function as a LED flasher. Then just seal it back up with a glue or silicone and let dry. DONE.

Excellent tip friend. I will definitely try this, Led flashers are so much better. I was just looking at the flasher unit today, it's in the nose cone behind the lights on XB9Rs.

It's easier just to do this mod, and it's free.... why fight what's natural???

It works, I have it done on my bike.

Ep36 it must say 3-6 led lamps on it.

Thanks for bringing this mod to my attention! PO put LED's on and they've flashed fast since I've bought it. Which pictures did you use? The ones on the front page don't seem to work anymore, and I don't see any others clearly stating which wire to cut...

You can also add resistors inline with the bulb to fix this also and retain the stock flasher. Usually a 50 or 60 ohm resistor per bulb does the trick. I have heard situations where 1K ohm resistors have been required, but I feel that is an anomoly. A replacement relay is the EP36 and should be readily available at your local auto parts store for about $15.
