Thread: How hard is it to replace the drive belt?

  1. #21
Hmmm. I wonder which one my HD dealer ordered for me. I just asked for a belt for my 05 Lightning. Maybe next time I should specify for an 07?

Got the new belt installed tonight. It's really tight tho. I hope that's just how they are when new. Also, how do I tell if the belt is a "lifetime" belt, or one of the old 15k replace belts?

Markings on the old belt were mostly the same, with the exception of them saying 1AAA instead of 1AAH.

From what I read the Goodyear belts are the newer version.

The stock 04-07 belt was smooth on the back.
The Kevlar reinforced belt has the textured back.
Tight is a good thing if u find the 1125 video floating around of belt flex it streches alot under load
