It's loud. 98-99 db at idle and a wee bit more (112-115 db or more) at full trot. If it's pointed out at the 3 o'clock position and you're passing someone at WOT, it's literally deafening and could be painful to them. Earplugs are a must, although the RT-3 is intended for race use only. Actually, all of them are. I assume everyone who buys one from me is at least a part time racer. :)

Also of note, EBR's tune (on their bike & dyno) with the RT-3 makes 143 hp at the wheel.

Is it loud yes, but not unbearably loud. The 1125 is a track toy for me so its not a huge deal. If it were my only bike I would probably still make the same choice. Look at the asb shootout, all the aftermarket mufflers are around the same when it comes to noise output. This will be the first bike I run ear plugs with though. lol

It could be done, but you'd end up adding more weight (ie; more parts in the exhaust) to achieve it. Plus I would imagine some minor engine mods would be needed also. Decked heads (higher compression) and timed cams should put you over 145 easy with a race pipe, mine or the full system from EBR. I don't have the resources to do full engine builds at home (well, I could, but I don't have the time) and I'd need my own dyno to do development work. I just don't see that happening any time soon. I think my neighbors would frown on full blown testing in my 2 car garage.
