That's what the stock finish is. I also had my Hyperpro spring powdercoated black on my Penske shock, and it is holding up great!

Not to hijack but regarding the shocks, is the actual shock body the same for older/original XB12SS and standard XB12S/XB12R? Or is the shock body/valving itself different due to increased swingarms length requirements? I definitely see why the spring rate is different (different leverage values for longer swingarm) but I wasn't sure about the actual shock body/valving. Obviously, STT (and later Ss) would have longer extended length.
