Dealer is a great place for factory parts
I notice my main coutershaft seal is puking oil all over my new exhaust. Is this common or due to the abuse my bike suffered before me?
Anyone else do this job? Any tips? Where do I get parts?

really?
Buell dealers or harley dealers?
i just did mine a week ago... super easy, theres a big lip seal that you can see and then a quad ring o-ring on the inside too...
both parts cost me $9 at a harley dealer...
super easy to replaces just pull off the front pulley then slide the spacer off, next is the big seal pry gently on it with a screw driver unless you have a seal puller, once thats out slide the quad ring off the shaft, slide the new quad ring on, then push the big lip seal in with your fingers to get it started and use tghe same size socket you used to get your pully nut off and hit it with a hammer a few times to make sure the seal is seated all the way in then throw your pully back on and your good to go....
pm me with any questions you have...
Buell/harley one in the same. Harley MUST sell factory bull parts for something like 7 years after your buell was made
Yeah -I think typically its 5 years after manufacture date for parts and 7 for documentation.
Only problem is Harley didn't manufacture the Buell -just the engine. So body and frame might run out quickly but they should have an output shaft seal.
I have heard nothing good about Harley dealers
I'll give them a chance lol not like I have much choice
But because they owned Buell, they are harleys responsibility. Some parts may take awhile to get. I have seen parts w/ a MFD date of 2010, so it appears they are still being produced. The dealers seems to be hit n miss. I have not had any issues at all
Great!
You don't hear about non-issues right.
I'll have to make friends with the hog shop. :D
