Thread: Header Replacement

  1. #1
Between corrosion and wreck damage, I need to replace my header. Anybody have recommendations? I am pretty certain I want a ceramic coated heater but have only seen one out there - http://www.americansportbike.com/sho...show/5015.html

I am also thinking about a new muffler but want I can jack against like my factory can. Suggestions?

HA ...... there are better options. The factory race can, Hawk modified muffler and the drummer are all capable of being jacked up and they have better torque and all around performance than the D&D.

    not by much

    buell race Best Power 90.09 5200 103.27 6500
    good luck finding one

    d&d Best Power 90.23 4700 96.66 6300
very easy to find expensive though also the loudest

    drummer Best Power 87.22 5300 99.64 6500
    cheaper price

    jardine Best Power 85.24 4400 101.36 6800
    cant be jacked on

    stock 84.19 5900 101 6800

the difference in all of these from 50-125 mph is 0.30 seconds

    and they have better torque

While the numbers aren't the best, that is a nice torque curve. That looks more than drivable.

anrkizm loves his D&D! They're cool exhausts, for sure. My vote is GB, but it cannot be used as a jacking point. You're best off investing in some race stands, anyway.

Buy a header somewhere else, then send it to Jet Hot (or any ceramic powder shop) to get it coated. You'll save money that way, and only be out a little more time.
