use mobil 1 v twin for the primary and engine.
Hey guys,
I want to make sure that when i change the oil there is the primary and the swingarm and that the primary is the same as the transmission with regards to chaging the oil. Also, I went to get the supplies and the guy gave me motor oil as well as transmission oil. Will the transmission oil work for the transmission/primary if they are connected Or should I be using the same stuff for both oil changes (Meaning the motor oil for the swing arm and pimary instead of motor oil for swingarm and tranny fluid for the primary)
Thanks guys

i use amsoil in both holes.
Yes, primary oil change is the same as transmission oil change. I have used mobile 1 v twin and now use Amsoil. 20w50. Both are rated for engine and primary. Hope that helps, had kinda the same question once.
Maybe this will help

Speaking of oil changes, how do you guys fill up the Swingarm with oil? I have used a turkey baster with another funnel on top of that but it doesn't work that good. Plus I have to loosen the passenger peg arm in order to get in it in there...
Just wondering what other people use???
Long neck small funnel usually works for me. just watch the angle and make sure it is going in the swing arm, not on the tire :p
i live full synthetic 20-50 in the swingarm for the motor. any of the top brands are excellent. the left side of motor case has transfer hole so that the primary cover oil flows into the trans. the primary and trans fluid are one in the same. 1 quart is the capacity. personally, i think bel-ray gear saver, motul synthese, and silkolene red trans fluid are great for both the trans, primary chain, and clutch but engine 20-50 also works well in the primary.
I use a flex neck funnel something like this
