    already on here somewhere, but just cause i'm a nice guy...

    it's hydroformed and the bend has its purpose.
    the flat bend keeps a larger cooling area in the wind, which means more air circulation in the header pulling the burnt a/f mixture out the cylinder making place for more fresh mixture, thus creating a better burn mixture = less heat production = more power...etc etc etc ;)

    Its not a "crush bend". The Micron system is a formed pipe, not a bent pipe. What I mean is that the piping is made in that shape. Formed in that shape. As opposed to taking a straight pipe and bending it to the desired shape. There's nothing crushed about it.

    It's one of the best performing systems available...

    I guess I miss this a while ago. Thanks Lefox and XBear9S! I learn something new every day. That make sense. Kindof like an expansion chamber on a 2 stroke?

    So Micron officially stopped making their heads and exhaust? And would anyone know if the old serpent system will work on my '08 12R? I love those Micron Heads and definetly will get a set of those eventually. Also what should I look out for if I buy used heads?

    Thaloc I believe it will, im not 100% positive though. I also would really like to get a full micron exhaust, but if they dont make them anymore what happens if something breaks?? im out almost $800? Also, can you buy just the muffler or just the headers seperately?

    Ya Iv seen just the exhaust on bikes. Iv never seen the headers without exhaust, but im sure u could use just the headers. I will get that entire system, even if I have to fly to Belgium....and take them...off someones bike....:p

    Edit: Just seen this in my email;

    Jon:

    Micron Exhausts UK is NOT us, we are a distribution company that represents
    many companies, one of them the former Micron.

    Yes, Micron is bankrupt. Gone, dissolved, non-existent any longer.

    Al over at American Sportbike has a few of the systems still in stock, might
    want to get your hands on one soon!

    If there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know.

    Thanks!
