Just go to the hardware store and pick up a few 1/4 20 stainless bolts and nylon washers. I picked up 4 packs of the nylon washers and 4 backs of bolts at Lowes for under $8. now I have 20 washers and 16 bolts. I also keep a few in my under seat storage for safty while Im out riding.
does the bolt have the shoulder on them like the oem ones do? alot of people thing you have to tighten everything as tight as you can that shoulder is there for 2 reasons... to prevent over tightening and to alighn the plastics up. Im just O.C.D when it comes to things like that
Hey guys, thanks again for the suggestions. There is no HD dealer within 5 hours of me, so I went to Home Depot and picked up some 1/4-20 SS socket head cap screws and brass washers, just so I could keep riding till the ones I bought from ASB arrived - the cowl was only being held on be the right side screws … I installed them finger tight with a drop of locktite on each and they actually look pretty good. They can stay there till I take the muffler off to clean and re-paint it.
Awesome looking bike Whiteboy12r! How did you get the color on the cylinders, levers and forks? All that polished aluminium must be a bitch to keep clean, but looks really great.
