Just drill out the rivets that are on there now and while you have it apart go ahead and repack it, then install new stainless steel rivets, they will probably have to be a little larger depending on how large you drill your holes out to be.

Typical issue with Jardine mufflers. It's not the rivets going bad it's the holes in the aluminum case that are starting to streach out. Only fix is to pull the can apart and cut it down to remove the bad part and put it back together with stainless rivets. Last one I fixed I used 12 ........ 1/8 rivets insted of the 6 Jardine used. The more rivets the more it spreads out the clamping force. Keep an eye on how long the inner perf tube is......mine was 1/2in short. With the inner perf tube being too short it allows it to act like a hammer bouncing back and forth till the rivet holes tear out.
Buy a new one they're insane through motorcyclesuperstore.com for about 260-270
Be careful and fix that soon, you can blow the end of the can out and run it over and lose control...Its happened many time
trade up for a special opps muffler its welded and wont fall apart.
