Thread: 1250 kit and head work from Hammer Performance

  1. #1
I was going to ride about a month ago and found this.

So I looked a little more and found this.

    and this...

When my exhaust strap broke I had about 32,000 mile on my bike. So I decided to rebuild the engine since I had to take it apart anyway. So I decided to go with a Hammer Performance 1250 kit with Smash head service.

    7MM Head Porting
    1.850 Intake 7MM 4.440 MSG
    1.615 Exhaust 7MM 4.651 MSG
    7 MM Intake Valve Guide
    7 MM Exhaust Valve Guide
    7 MM Valve Guide Seal
    Smash Head Porting Service 7MM
    7MM Beehive Spring 600 Lift
    7MM Titanium Retainer
7MM Locks Single Groove (2 each)
Striker Performance 7MM Valve Spring Kit 600 Lift Single Groove Locks

    Silver 3.563 Cylinder
3.563 10.5-1 Sportster Reverse Dome Piston

    Chromoly pushrods

    Cometic Gaskets

I also refurbished my Spec ops exhaust

    New jugs installed

And here is the finished product

I will post the dyno printout when I come up with $300 to get it Dyno-tuned. I spent most of my money on the engine rebuild.:D I did a tune with ECM spy, its running fine, but Im sure it could run better:D

have you ridden it yet? how much faster does it feel?

  3. #3
Since the rebuild I have put about 2,000 miles on it. The front end comes up accelerating out of corners:D. It does feel a lot faster than before, but that might be because I just love riding my Buell, now at 34,500 miles!! I think it was well worth the money!!

    Curious about what you did.

I flashed the race map onto the ECM and it ran a little rough. So I made some adjustments and its running fine now. I am just running a modified race map for now.

May I ask...you did remove all those sharp edges from the pistons (valve pockets) didn't you ?

    Bad things for starting preignition.

All taken care of by Dan at Hammer Performance. All the parts were ready to install out of the box.
