Headers look awesome Neil!
I took it out for some fresh air! Got a couple hours of riding in.
Jessie I've probably got 10 hours into them, they were horrendous when I took the wrap off. If and when I next have to rotate the motor I think I'm going to invest in a bench grinder with some buffing wheels and really make them shine.
I still have a few things to do before riding season really kicks off but I couldn't miss this nice day. The tag bracket needs to come back off for paint, I have to retap the bolt holes for the pully cover, paint the center piece of the chin spoiler and remount it...
I rode my XB12Scg to Daytona Bike Week and ended (by luck) parking by the EBR tent. When I left most of the guys from EBR gave me a thumbs up as I rode by the tent.
Continued the blacking out process ala rattle can. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. :D
Finished my Winter list including:
- New black primary cover
- XB9 gearing
- New Energy One Clutches & lighter plate
- New Teflon coated clutch cable
- Blacked out pegs, shifter linkage, brake pedal and timing cover
- ASV C5 Levers
- Torque Hammer II Exhaust (Ceramic Black)
- Repolished the headers
Took the first test ride today...I'm a happy man! :D:D:D:D:D Just need to install the chin spoiler...
After giving up on my search, I found a rear wheel in translucent amber on ebay and ended up getting it for under $100 :D
Unfortunately, the bearings were shot in it, so I had to pull them with the kit available from Harbor Freight. It was surprisingly useful and took less than 5 minutes.
More to come, but I thought I would share because my girlfriend just doesn't understand this kind of stuff
I think I need to change my wheel front bearing. It hits metal when I brake and push down the handlebars.
Do think is the bearing or isolator?
What do you mean by "it hits metal?"It hits metal when I break and push down on the handlebars.
when i pressed the front brake and pushed down i feel i little tap, like some little lose.... when riding a passes a little bump... sorry if not describe it correctly :(
