wheel hubs do that when they are going bad, not usually just in reverse but I've seen weirder things.
so lately i've been noticing my car (99 civic SI) is making a weird whining noice when i put it in reverse. it seems to come from the fron passenger side of the car. IDK if its a bad wheel bearing, bad break pads, or my steering pump or what?... I'll go drive around my parking lot in the dark and try to get a video of it
anybody have any ideas?
the noise only happens when in reverse.

i forget how to post a youtube video, so theres the link.... :/
insert the numbers (or letters) after the = when you click the youtube button
sounds like it's rubbing on something, almost like the guard on the wheel well.
did i get it to post?....
and alright it only happens when i crank it right in reverse not left...
yes it posted, if it only does it when turning right and in reverse that would make sense that the back of the tire is rubbing on something in the back of the wheel well.
not sure if it actually is, but that would make sense.
my guess......bad rear motor mount...but thats just me... or check shift linkage
Did your car just start making this noise? Cause thats pretty common to have a whining noise in reverse. I know my old truck did that....
