Thread: Front engine mount. Knocking noise??

  1. #1
Can a worn out isolator cause a knocking noise?

I can't pinpoint the noise when I'm riding, but going over bumps including the small bumps and road irregularities causes it.

Also have had two up and it will make the knocking noise in idle, it seems like the extra weight pushes it. Could it be my fork or rear shock?

On a different note.. There was a small amount of burned oil on the front cylinder. Is it leaking? Doesn't seem to be consistent. 2004 Buell XB12S

Check your horn mount or anything loose under the windscreen...I thought i had a knocking/chirping noise front the front and found out my horn was loose. Its pretty common

The nuts holding my exhaust headers on the front cylinder worked loosed. You might check them,.

    Exhaust sounds more likely.

I'll check that out.. Any other ideas?
