I just got an XB12r, and the brake light doesnt work.
Ive verified that the lamp is ok, and if i jumper the front switch, it works, so i know the front switch is bad.
But heres where things get a bit wierd to me - the rear brake switch works, if i disconnect the harness under the seat and put a meter on it, i can see it working when i press the pedal - but it doesnt activate the light.
Could the bad front switch be preventing the rear one from working as well? or is there a problem in the harness?
Any ideas where to get a front switch?

If its shorted on the switch?
The rear switch doesnt work even if the front switch is disconnected - so im worried that theres a problem in the harness...
OK I got a new front switch, and now the front switch works perfectly, but the rear still doesnt
Is there a wireing diagram for the lights anywhere?
Like i said - the rear switch definitely works, i checked it with a continuity tester under the seat.
Where does that wire go after the underseat connection?
I have an xb12r too and the brake light didn't work when I got it. I pulled off the cover and turned the bulb a little so it isn't turned all the way in the socket. It started working and has been fine for about 4 months. Give it a shot.
