Always, always, always let these motors warm-up for a few minutes before you give them any gas. If you're turning them on and then revving them up while they're cold you'll just keep having the same problem.

I second and third the fact that it is the rocker cover gaskets, just got finished putting them on my xb9r a while back and you will need to rotate the engine, make sure to get the revised set like jriffe says, they are far better than the oem gaskets, and do let the bike warm up.:)

2 things. First, I just noticed my '07 Firebolt is dripping oil and it appears to be coming from the rear cylinder somewhere. I am going to assume it is from the rocker cover. Does anyone know how long they usually take to begin to fail? Does 5 years sound about right? Also, when I initially start mine, I'll rev it up to 1500-2000 for a few seconds just to get everything moving and so it doesn't die right away (which I heard can flood the spark plugs). Should I quit doing that? Thanks.

Today I removed the leaking starter and here is what I noticed. Should I just ignore this or it is time to waste time and money again? 2009 Buell XB12 Scg 15000 miles.

Will cost you more time than money.
Looks like a rocker box leak.
You don't have anything leaking around the breather do you?
