does anyone know the overall length of them, I know they are 5/16-24 / 5/16-18 but I can't find documentation about length.

I snapped one on the front head when I was backing it out during my teardown.

Yes those do break off after a few miles have been put on them. Make sure to use the same Factory Studs, this way if broken it's easier to drill out or remove than say a Black iron stud or the like. Did you back it out while cold? I usually heat up the studs with some light heat before removal to help with removal so as to replace them slightly expanded, with the wiring completely out of the way. That sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. If you can Replace all of them with no sealant and you should be ok for a while. Good luck.*Jimi

I got it out, no problem there. Just need new ones. I have a friend that works on harleys and he said it happens all the time so he got it out for me. I also got offered a job at a high performance engine shop last weekend, so I'm keeping in contact with the owner so I can start working there when my time frees up a bit. He typically works on Honda motors but I'm intriguing him with my bike.
