So I had been looking at Firechickens post on his DIY air intake. And had been informed that in 07 they changed the frame to hold more fuel and took out that air intake hole. So I take a look up my left side air scoop, and they just patched the hole. I guess I half expected a new frame mold instead of just a patch. So now im wondering if this will be the way it always will be, or are they going to exhaust their supply of old frames before producing a new frame? Maybe im just too anal, but I feel like Buell kinda let me down. Id almost rather fill up the tank more for the extra air to the airbox. Would this not be a weak point in the frame now? Because wouldnt they have to cut into the frame to open up the fuel resevoir to where that whole "was"? Maybe im over-reacting. Can anyone with an '09 tell me if their frame is patched, or whole?

Hey Thaloc, your question has ran though my head as well. I am corious if the 1125R frame is this way.(it is the same frame as are bikes i believe). I will try to get buy the Buell dealer and look.
Ya, I think imma just stop by the stealership after work and look for myself. Ill post in about 3 hrs.
No '09s in the Stealership, every single '08 model, im guessing they wanna push those first. So still any help from u guys with an '09 would be greatly appreciated.

Checked an '09 Lightning at the stealership, and yes the '09s are patched also. Weak-Sauce.
Nothing changed on the '09's other than color options...
