velocity stack, help me please

I cant get the velocity stack to connect to the airbox base, does anyone know how to get it back together?

pull both lips through then push the bottom one back down.

so you have to spread the lips to put the stack in the hole? we are still talking about buells right?:D

I use a shoe string, wrap it around the groove, put the 2 ends thru the hole in the base and just pull one end up bringing the top lip with it

I always hold down the airbox base,then I use a flat blade screwdriver under the top lip and carefully ease it around the base,be sure not to jab the rubber and poke a hole in it.

that is genius if it works as good as i am picturing it. i almost want to take it apart just to try it..key word being almost. next time i need to ill give it a shot. thanks
