Just cut the little metal loops out of the ends and use a velcro strap instead. Screw paying hd $15 for a pain in the ass rubberband.
Mine broke 3 times under warranty and now I have a velcro battery strap just like the one badgerbuell described.
the rubber strap is a huge pain in the arse, I agree with the folks saying to replace it with velcro, heck I might do the same (and my strap is intact) just so I don't ever have to deal with that darn rubber strap again.
Yep, replace it with something, an unrestrained battery is not a good thing, it will shorten the life of it
Took my seat off today and notice the stap was busted. I have a 2009 XB12Scg.
I'm thinking I'm going to go the velcro route.
Anyone have any suggestions based upon what they learned going this route? What to do/not do?
THanks.
It's the wires that will fatigue a the terminals if the battery is moving around. We all know we need all the amps we can get.
The "Cord organizers" in Home Depot are heavy duty velcro sewn to canvas. PERFECT for a better battery hold-down. A couple bucks well spent.
Thanks Cooter.
Have any links?
Well, I definitely do not want my bits getting slammed by a lot of lbs flying around under the seat. Just my opinion.
