I've got an 2008 XB12STT (Super TT) and I want to add passenger pegs.

I know the STT and SS are very similar.

If I didn't want to keep the number plates, I'd have to take them off completely and buy Lightning passenger peg mountings, pegs, hardware, etc, aka simple and easy.

But, I'd like to keep the number plates on the side.

Option 1: Buy the Ulysses passenger peg mounting set-up (the castings, pegs, hardware, etc). I keep the number plates and I have passenger pegs.

Option 2: Attach the normal Lightning passenger peg under the seat like normal with the number plate pinched between. Has that ever been tried? If not, why? Interference? Would the curve of the triangle castings hit the panels? If I needed more length to clear the plates, I can machine some rectangular spacers (also at various angles if needed to clear the plates) and use longer bolts. Has that ever been done before?

I checked the prices, and option 2 is like half the price compared to option 1.

How common is it to put the Ulysses setup on other XB models?

Also, what are the differences in height from the ground and forward/backward for the peg compared to a Ulysses setup vs. Lightning STT/SS? What would be more have less bending for the knees for comfort?

Lots of questions, please address each of my concerns.

Thanks,
MetricZero
