    Hi all,

I've done some digging and can't seem to find what i'm looking for.

Does anyone have recent info on where to get a fender eliminator for an 08 Scg that :
    a) is not fiberglass
    b) is available in North America
    c) accepts stock brake light
    d) does not require a trade-in

I found European links, a link to ASB's site but it is no longer available (they are apparently working on another one) and the folk that make one for 1125r don't have one for Scg.

    Thanks

Oh and by the way ... nice forum :) hehe

Ya, I saw his post too but he was talking about January 09 if all goes well.

I think I caught the BUG looking at the mods some of the guys have done. I don't know i can wait till January ... and by then I'll be knee deep in snow and have to wait some 4 months before takin her for a ride

Just cut yours off with a pneumatic rotary cutting tool. I've seen some that are cut off that look great!

+1 for chopping the stock tail. I did mine in my garage and it took just abit over an hour, touched it up with a dremel after and touch up paint to paint over the bare metal.

Picture of the finished product (not a good one, I just cropped it off a picture of the whole bike)

I did some checking today with my HD/uell dealer and found out that a new center tail piece retails about 130 Canadian Dollars so i figured i may as well chop the one i got and get a new replacement in case i want to go back to the original tail.

I have seen them too Dave but my concern is getting it to look good. i.e. symetrical, following existing shapes & curves, etc

MooFX any pointers or do's and don'ts?

    Thanks

Not really. Just make sure you have very steady hands and take off a little bit at a time.

I drew out the line of where I want to cut beforehand so it's much easier to 'trace the line' while you're cutting. Also don't cut right up to the light right away, cut about 5mm away from it and work your way in bit by bit to 'fine tune' it.

    Good luck!

So i finally decided to go ahead and take my chances and make my own grater eliminator.

Man i don't know what kind of dremmel tools some of the guys have used, but i tried and figured i'd still be working on this had i used it through out. Mini-grinder & cut-off disk for rough shaping then a sanding disk to follow traced lines.

I'm not the best at this type of work but i'm happy with results.

The idea for the devil or bull horns is not mine. I saw this somewhere but can't find it anymore ... credit goes to the other person that done this before.

    Thanks for advice.
