    Hey guys pretty new here.

    So i have a 03 xb9s, hawk exhaust,race tune, and kn filter.

I have a 06 xb12ss engine sitting in my garage, with throttle body, front and rear sproket, and ecm.

Is this a direct swap into my xb9? I read i just need a new belt. Is the belt tensioner the same from a 9 to a 12?
excuse any ignorance, love the site

as far as i no (i did an 04 xb12r to an 06 xb12r engine) it will be a direct swap. but you will need a new speedometer an 06+ one.

There was another guy that had a similar situation to you. The gearing in the engine/transmission between 03 and 06 is different, so your old speedo will display the incorrect speed. You need a new speedo (maybe gauge cluster but idk) from an 06 bike that is meant for that transmission.

Also, if I remember correctly the 9's don't make use of the interactive exhaust servo/cable set up, if you're planning on running a stock exhaust or incorporating that into a a modded stock exhaust.

His Hawk exhaust will be fine. I know a lot of people with '12s usually look for a '9 exhaust pipe for Randy to cut.

    Thanks for the answers guys.
Forgot to say the new engine also has the oil cooler and both lines to it.
I was reading that I don't have to swap wiring harnesses, but I'm not sure. I do have the wiring harness also though.
    More research I guess lol
