Thread: Leaking petcock?

  1. #1
Just fired up both my bikes today; they were idle for 2 months as I had a back injury.

2007 Blast, turned fuel petcock to ON, and it leaked fuel 4-6 drops from the knob.

    Turned to off, no leak.
    Turned to Reserve no leak.

I rode it for 60 miles on reserve, no issues.

    Turned to on, leak .

Is there an after market petcock I can install?

If it's from the around the knob, I would check the 2 bolts that hold the knob ring to the petcock. If those are tight, it may just be the gasket inside there. Easy to take apart but you'll need to drain the gas.

Worst case the knob may be cracked but should be easy to find an OEM replacement

Thanks pierce(as always!) and cecilsan. ordered one from above link, $31 shipped. Cheaper than I could find on ebay.
