Local bike shop was doing free dyno runs, so I had to go see what kind of numbers my XB had.
Numbers seem a little low, so I decided to see what everyone on here thought. Out of three runs, bike peaked at 81.7 hp. Thinking altitude might have something to do with it, bike shop is around 5500ft and I do most of my ridding between 7000ft-11000ft.

    Background on the bike…

    2006 XB12ss
    Race can
    Race ecm
    Open air box with K&N
    Breather mod
Harley dino oil in both holes
    NGK iridium plugs

I have no complaints about how the bike runs; power band is a smooth/steady climb. Just curious as to how it compares and wondering if there is anything I should look into.

i was always told that there's approx. a 12% parasitic power loss on belt-driven bikes between HP at the crank and HP at the rear wheel. i would think that considering your mile-high altitude the 82HP is respectable and normal. i know nothing about dynos or the guys that operate them but more importantly you stated the bike runs very well, fuels cleanly, pulls steadily thru the rpm range. personally i find that much more important in everyday riding than big dyno numbers. but that's me.

^this. And a comparison with other bikes on that day will paint a clearer picture for you.
