oh, okay, that is a good mod. I am ordering HID lights soon, and I will re-wire my setup to keep away from that few ms drop in power.

Be sure to add a 555 timer setup to the low beam, so the startup current draw from the starter does not drop your voltage below the min for the HID ballast
Set the timer for about 15 seconds delay, that gives you time to turn on the key, get on the bike and start it, then the light will turn on
I know all this stuff cause in a HID agent in OZ, and i have HID's in everything
thanks on the timer, and that was already the plan.
dave_xb12r did HIDs in his firebolt and added a timed relay to the mix with very desirable results.
Kajer,
With your original relay mod (non-HID, page 1), does the flash-to-pass button still work? I recall that feature is lost when one does the simple orange/white wire-swap mod.
Thanx!
-Eric.
flash to pass still worked... I don't know why anyone would want to swap the wires, besides, it should have been orange and yellow. orange being always on, and yellow being the low-beam that cuts out when you use the high beam (white)
Yes, orange/yellow-- I misspoke. Darn this forum's lack of edit feature.
Thanx for the info!
-Eric.
I have read entire thread and still no pics available..
