so i went up mt lemon again and back down changing altitude from 3600 feet to 8000 feet and temp from 108 in tucson to 75 at the top and back down in under 2 hours of riding after coming back down its backfiring and wont idle until motor is at full operating temp. i understand that its the ecm and afv talking to each other but how long does it usually take for it to adjust back to the original altitude settings? last time i went on a 40 min ride on the interstate and cleared the plugs and ran like a champ after that. also i am getting the ecm spy in a couple weeks would i be able to just plug in the computer and fix it on the spot or does it still have to learn? thank you guys for your knoledge on this site saves me big $$$$$$

Hopefully the baseline afv for the map you have(I'm guessing stock tuning?) is close to 100(it should be to run well). If so, then yes resetting it to 100 in ecmspy will make it pretty much instantly run good again.

It should adjust on it's own though.

yes i assume stock mapping although the guy i cought it from put a stage 1 exhaust and k&N air filter. not sure if these required remapping? and as soon as i run it at altitude for 20 min between 2500 and 3500(on the interstate) it runs great. just a pain in the ass everytime i go up the mountain i have to reset it that way.......hopfully it will be much less of a pain in the ass to do it on the computer......love them corners!!!!

I'd assume you're running a little lean with intake/exhaust and stock tune.

i assume so too so i will just have to wait till i get the ecmspy and see what it looks like. the stage one ist hammer exhaust, k&n air filter and you send in the stock ecm and they send it back modified and all you should have to do is reset the tps, however i bought the bike with these upgrades already completed(supposedly).

As far as I know the 04 ECMs don't auto adjust the fuel map.
