Just for other XB owners with EBR ECM for D&D system.....My fan is always on when bike is going above 10 mph and shuts off when coming to a stop. It will come back on while not moving if you let the bike idle long enough to get temps up. Set up like this, you never hear the fan although I am attuned to hearing it shut down while coming to stop.

always on? really? i'd change that as Spal fans are tedious to replace, quite expensive, and not designed to constantly run. OR stay with it and stock up on fans.

Gonna let it do its thing. Probably be perfectly Okay in Upstate, NY with no fan. Hell, it snowed today. Hits 90 maybe twice a summer. Any bad stories of running bike on regular basis without thr fan? I've got the tight side scoop for rear cylinder head. Also run Mobil I 15W-50 full synthetic in all my bikes with many, many miles.
