Thread: having a hard time finding intake gaskets

    idle is still surging and thought i would change the intake gaskets but cant find them to buy. ive searched google, amazon, buellster parts and american sport bike.

    and can i change them without rotating the motor?

    ebay, it's way easier to rotate the motor to do it.

    thanks i did the search intake gaskets(duh) should have searched for "intake seal" how long does it take to rotate the motor so i can schedule some time to do it( busy schedule)

    There is a DIY on here without rotating the engine, and the guy said it only took a few hours. Why rotate the motor if you don't need to, and it isn't necessary. The guy did recommend buying some special tool from HD though, sorry I don't have more specific info...

    Maybe like 3 hours. I did mine in less but have dropped her a few times now

    Here is what I just picked up Genuine James JGI-26995-97-X


    They have a lip that promotes much better sealing surface area...You can pick them up many places. They are just Evo intake seals, and that is all the Buell XB seal are too! :D
