So I recently bought a 2005 xb9sx with ~7k miles on it and it ran beautifully. Last week, changed the engine/primary oil for the first time and rode it about 25 miles after without issues. I went away for the weekend and today when I fired her up she was idling strangely (normally constant 1k-ish, today was dipping to 800 and then back to 1k over and over). When I started riding it was weird, like it seemed like the power was dipping out and I heard backfires. Any idea what could be wrong? Could I have ****ed up while changing the oil somehow - I figure that would have shown up almost immediately and it's not like the procedure was complicated enough that I am likely to have made a mistake. Maybe low on gas? The light isn't on and I should have only about 100 miles on this tank. I'm hoping she was just mad at me because I left her alone all weekend. ;o) Help please.

I have the same issue with my XB12, it comes and goes, from my Internet research i suspect the plug cap or cables but didn't had time yet to check it.

Did it do it after it was warmed up for a little?
