My '03 had 25k before the fan went out. New one has almost 20k and no problems.

    Those SPAL part numbers x-y-z mean: x - body, y - motor, z - blades. Blades A - sucking, S - blowing.
So the nearest will be VA31-A101-46S - it has paired spokes - more likely to OEM. Think i could cut the spokes and fix new inner part somehow with epoxy or whatever, if it cannot be disassembled. Rather tricky - damned spokes are misplaced! And small SPALs are rare
Well, it still can run , but still have not installed a heat barrier adhesive - will be HOT times.

Actually, did anybody unscrew those 3 screws on the rear? Is the motor retracted, well, together with the blades molded onto the shaft? Or it is only a cover?

Just to conclude the topic. Removed it finally, saw it working from battery, installed back (well, it is not serviceable indeed). Installed a switch that shortens pin 6 to ground to control it manually

Was happy to hear it working, BUT after running the engine for awhile and trying to run the fan - it didn't start! Starts only when you touch it, runs some time, changing the speed, then stops. Always thought that it SHOULD work in such erratic manner - slow-fast-slow... reflecting the temp in real time. So, it's faulty when it's hot! A new one will be 200$ from ASB - better than 500$.

By the way, wrapped its back with ThermoTec (just in case) - well, that's toooo late. And not sure it helps at all. To use a Peltier cooler to cool down the cooling fan? ;)
