My muffler detached from the down pipe going over a speed bump that I thought I could get over the other day...**** me

Anyways. I have a Vance and Hines on the way along with a 45 jet and a 48 if I want to play some with it.

However, out of curiosity. Would it be possible to simply put a very large jett on it, like 70 or something and just have the down pipe be the straight pipe on it? The only problem is that it would be ridiculously loud and how would I silence it from there?

I'm a poor college student so if there was some crazy ass way I could get my bike running ok for cheap I would totally return the V&H

    Thanks guys

You can run a drag pipe and be just fine. If you want to stay cheap and loud just buy a sportster drag pipe and fab a cheap side mount. 48/175 - 180 should be fine. You can find the drag pipes for like 20 dollars on ebay or craigslist.
