Never ridden the dragon....hope I can make this event.
I rode the Dragon my first time there a couple of years ago in mid-summer with a group from the Yamaha YZF600 forum. The weekend that they always go is also the Miata club weekend, so it was pretty busy on the Dragon, but still an absolute blast! I would love to do that trip again with a bunch of Buell riders next time.
What's the weather been like there for late April? Summer time was extremely nice. There was quite a few times riding that we go stuck in tourist traffic, so I imagine a trade off between optimum weather and lower levels of traffic.
Weather in late April there is generally pretty good. Mild temps. Occasional rain. Few years ago it dropped to the 30s at night but was mid-60s in the day. That's perfect weather for plucking around in full gear. Traffic, well traffic is traffic on the dragon. Can suck balls one minute, empty the next. If you really want to experience the dragon, ride it on a Wed morning.
