I agree with FIDOSIL and Bordsnbikes..straight Army Combatives is definitely lacking...until you get into about level 4 you learn some pretty good stuff there. It's all about taking the basic knowledge you learn with that and combining it with the knowledge floating around in your company. There are a lot of people with different backgrounds and different training floating around, so the bastardization method is the way to go.

Absolutely, never rely on one source, absorb all you can. That applies to everything in life, not just fighting. Always look at your surroundings, there is always some to hit your opponent with, or hit your opponent off of. My motto is "A fair fight is the one I win" don't be afraid to hit him in the nuts or stick your thumb in his eye. Be ready for him to do the same.

Fidosol: I admire MMA but the sad truth for me is that I enjoy hurting people way too much.
You fight in MMA long enough, no matter how much you like "hurting poeple", you'll learn a certain amount of respect for other poeople and gain maturity. Besides, MMA or at least ours around here, have refs and rules that won't let it go that far. If you like fighting that much, you need in an MMA club. Besides, it's an awesome stress reliever. ;)

I don't really wait for stuff to go on sale...I spend the same amount of money on food for me and my wife as my friend does, and he has 3 kids! Can't tell by looking at me, but I like to eat.

You get access through the headlights. It's a tight squeeze. The worst part is you have to drain all your blinker fluid.
