Thread: Push rod Covers

  1. #1
I have a '06 XB12SCG with a leaky push rod cover on the front cylinder. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to un-bolt the front supports and just rotate the engiine forword to replace the seal?

You can rotate the engine to do it, but the rocker box and head must be removed as well.

That also means you have to remove the whole intake assembly. Might be easier to just drop the motor. The bolts for the intake assembly may be a little hard to get to just having it tilted forward. It doesn't take long to get there. The first time I pulled my engine was a few weeks ago and I had it on the floor in about 6 hours. Had the case split in about another 2.
