In looking at my rear tire today I'm MUCH more in need of a new one than I thought.
I want to move to a 200mm on the rear and will replace the front w/ stock size at the same time.
I've read xtremelow's 200mm tire review from back in May '09 but want to know 1) Is that still a valid recommendation and 2) Are there other suggestions for a 200mm rear option??
Thanks in advance for any feedback...

...and with priority on long wear rather than high performance/cornering ability. I'm a new to owning a bike and am a pretty conservative rider.

I have the 200 on the back of my bike. It's a 200/55R17 Dunlop D205. I like it pretty well.

It's shown here with the stock short swingarm. It's tight but fits

Well I ended up going with the Shinko Verge 011 Sport Touring tires, stock size on front and 200/50/17 rear. Got a pretty good deal on ebay, $210 for BOTH tires w/ free shipping, not bad. So far I'm really happy with these and according to the many reviews I read beforehand I should be able to expect some descent mileage out of them.

If you're just tooling around, you won't notice a difference. If you ride it like it was meant to be ridden, you'll notice it by the massive chicken strips and the way the tire drops off sharply.

I have tried the 200 tire but it seems to wide and catches the drive belt, the 190 looks nice and corners! well, I have been using it for the past 4 years, it clears the drive belt with few millimeters.

Huh? Wonder why yours rubs? I seem to have plenty of clearance. Then again I removed both my belt guards but it's not too close to the belt itself. Mine's an 09 scg, maybe just a different set up.
I love that flattened out fender Peanut, that's sharp.
Here's a few different shots of the new tires on...
