My '05 XB9SX turns 4000 and a hair at 75...couple of weeks ago I took a 2000 mile round trip at air temps of up to 100degrees (600 mi first day, 400 second both ways)... no oil use, a bit of a sore butt, but I get that way in a car after that many hours.

No vibration fatigue.... a lot smoother than the '86 sportster hotrod I sold to get the Buell.

These are pretty comfortable sport bikes. I did 600+ miles a few months ago in AR and like the guy above it was HOT(108, 110, etc.) the whole time. The bike did great, cruised around 65-70mph most of the time. A few times we hit cruising speeds of 80mph but for shorter periods. The bike doesn't like cruising there, I do wish there was a 6th gear. Really our speed fluctuated a lot because we were mostly in mountains. But I love the bike, and wouldn't trade it for what else is out there just for the extra gear, besides I'm normally cruising around 50-60mph.

my bike is happy to cruise @85-90 on the intertate for a couple hours. I say 85-90 bcuz @ that RPM 43ish to 46ish the damn thing makes so much power slight throttle movement can bump u up 5mph without noticing. Not so sure the cars i pass appreciate the noise but it doesnt bother me a bit and the engine feels very smooth. Doesnt seem to shake me up much except @60 (way too ruff and sluggish in 5th) and @ about 110 bcuz the motor is really zingin by then.

My last bike was a Speed Triple 1050. I would call that a comfortable sport bike. It has 6 gears though so interstate cruising is easy.
I wish I knew someone with an XB so I could just ride it to see for myself. I've actually only seen 2 in person though.

lol Chattanooga, TN. I have full coverage insurance that's supposed to cover any vehicle I drive...
I would never disrespect anyone by trying power wheelies or the like. I just want to feel how they ride.

Have an xb12ss. 4000 rpms in 3rd going 60mph. 4000 rpms in 4th going 70mph. Normally only grab 5th when I'm taking a long cruise or I'm seriously tearing ass.
